Whom will you serve

It should come as no surprise to anyone that this world is in the shape it is in. Man with all his intelligence and abilities today has made the same mistake that he has been making for thousands of years, he has left God out of everything. The very fact that God created all there is has no real effect on man because he blindly goes about his life as if he is the creator.

Man has made up his own religions and took to himself all kinds of false gods such as money, power, fame and materialism. Rather than serve a loving God who will one day show His vengeance upon these men and their idols. They serve themselves here in this temporary life with no thought of eternity at all.

Christians have been called out of this world. We must live here but we do not have to take part in its evils. Peter tells us this…1Pe 2:9  But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

Being a called out people a peculiar people doesn't mean we are prefect or that mistakes or sins will not occur in our lives but we as Gods children have the avenue of repentance and prayer in which we can ask forgiveness. How wonderful that is to know if we will seek to do Gods will we can be forgiven and one day have an eternal home in heaven.

The man of the world has no real hope other than what he gains here in this life after that all there will be is an eternity of punishment in the fiery pit of hell. But his pride his greed his don't care attitude won't allow him to see this.

Now there are some folks who want it both ways. They want to worship God on Sunday and serve the Devil the rest of the week. We know this is foolishness and vain yet they try anyway. The scriptures teach us Mat_6:24  No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. So it is clear you simply can't have it both ways.

The Lord tells us also to be sure where are hearts are Mat 6:20  But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
Mat 6:21  For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

As Christians we need to be sure our treasure is not being built up here in a temporary life. Satan makes it easy to be lured into false hope here in this life he is going to and fro seeking those he can devour. 1Pe_5:8  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Paul tells us not to be tossed to and fro not to walk as those of the world do…. Eph 4:14  That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
Eph 4:15  But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
Eph 4:16  From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
Eph 4:17  This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,
Eph 4:18  Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:
Eph 4:19  Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.

Friends it is my plea that you walk in the light of Gods word and that you go teach it to others for that should be are biggest goal. Mat 28:19  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Mat 28:20  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
